Home Works writable paint is a transparent dry erase paint that can turn a smooth surface in a writable area. Grab a whiteboard marker and just start writing or drawing. Maintenance is easy – just wipe it clean using a microfibre cloth. Our new paint also contains antibacterial silver ions, helping to keep the surface nice and clean.
Writable paint is a great alternative to the old whiteboards because it can adapt to any space and surface. You can transform any space in a creative zone. Write anywhere and then quickly wipe off to allow your wall to blend back into the background.

How to apply the DIY paint It only takes a couple of hours
The application process is simple and quick and is the same for all our writable paints.
- Mix the paint and the hardener (You don’t need a primer for our clear paints);
- Apply the first coat then wait between 30 and 40 minutes;
- Mix again and then add second coat of paint;
- Leave to dry for a couple of days;
- Don’t clean with strong chemicals for the next 30 days.

How to measure your surface Calculate how much paint you will need
To calculate how much whiteboard paint you need, use a tape measure or meter stick to measure the height and width of the area you want covering and then multiply the two measurements:
Height x Width = Total Area
For example, if your wall is 2m high and 1m wide, you need 2 sq.m of whiteboard paint (2m x 1m = 2m²)

You don’t have to use ESCREO accessories on your whiteboard, but these have been specially formulated to prolong the life and appearance of your paint.
How long does the writable paint last?
All writable paints come with a full, 1-year warranty and a limited 10-year warranty that your paint will retain its great appearance and functionality. We recommend regular cleaning (every 2-3 days) and to use high quality whiteboard markers to extend the life of your writable surfaces. Do I need to apply primer before the writable paint?
Our transparent paints don’t require a primer before application. If you are painting onto smooth interior walls or plaster. We recommend using a good primer if your surface has too many grooves or marks.
How much paint do I need to buy for two coats?
Each can contains enough paint to cover the recommended surface with at least 2 full coats. Make sure that you measure your surface accurately and carefully apply the paint following the exact instructions that came with it. N.B. Diluting or mixing the paint with other products will not work well. There is a high risk of affecting the finish and end results.
