We continue with our favorite series ‘Writing on the wall…’, where we talk about the Escreo walls or rather about the people next to them. With this material, we aim to introduce to you our clients’ and partners’ activities and ambitions, as well as to show you various and specific applications of Escreo in an office environment. Today we’re interviewing Magardich Hulian from Baker Brothers.
Why did you choose Escreo instead of the whiteboard?
The standard whiteboard is simply a framework, a plane. While we wanted the atmosphere to be more varied and dynamic. And since the room was white, the only way to avoid remaking it entirely was to resort to more modern paints. This option is much more pleasant and flexible and the paint itself has a very good finish. The only issue we had, and it was a small one, was with the magnets that didn’t always grip well. (Escreo reminds us that the magnetic coating works best with neodymium magnets)
We noticed that you have a culinary books in several different languages. Which cuisine are you most interested in?
The delicious one (laughs). The natural one that is prepared with fresh ingredients, which are usually produced somewhere near us. Thus they travel a short time and it preserves its taste qualities. And if they come from local varieties – well, that’s even better. We all know that Bulgarian tomatoes, for example, are unparalleled in quality.
Does this mean that you seek to purchase mainly organic products?
Not quite. The bio aspect is not as important to us as the locality of the producers, preferably small ones. Most of the products that you can find with us are such – flour, juices, honey. We ourselves are also a small producer and we function as an artisan bakery working with leaven.
Many believe that cooking is in big part creativity. What role does it play in your bakery?
It’s all about creativity with us. If you look at our loaves, you will see that each of them is like a painting and has its own character and appearance. Of course, we can’t escape from the compliance of some purely technological principles and rules in production, but the leading thing is that the bread comes out with love from the baker’s hands. When he is angry, the bread is not good either.
Me and my colleague already tried the crumble and I dare say that it was not only absolutely tasty, but also very good-looking.
We are not amongst the sites that offer a great assortment. If you enter a traditional shop, you will see a lot more products there. We like to keep things here in small quantities, but of good quality and looks. So a customer can not only enter and buy some bread, but also drink a coffee, eat some delicious breakfast and leave Baker Brothers happy and smiling.
In Bulgaria we say that you mustn’t build a house or a business with relatives. What do Baker Brothers think about that?
Ha-ha! We have two brothers has two partners here with us, so I hope we can refute this Bulgarian pessimism. We are trying to show that when there is a common goal and you know how to follow and achieve it, the outcome is always pleasant.
